pulled this out in about 20 mins.... tried different brushes and stuff, didn't really rush it or anything but I'm pretty happy with it.

Holy crud! I couldn't do that quality of a background in a day, let alone 20 minutes! *is majorly jealous* It's a bit rough, but I think it fits the harsh nature of this particular environment:) Well done!

Actually, I think it's a good start for you, however. I think if you keep doing speedies like this (except bigger) you're going to improve very fast! Compared to, as you mentioned, when we did those speedpaint comps, you've already improved a lot.

I love the contrast between the bright light and the dark cliffs.
